~ Chino High School ~
Chino High School is a boarding reform school. The school is co-ed, and students have their own dorm rooms on campus, seperated by gender then by age. Chino is a high school located in a remote part of Japan and rarely does it get visitors not destined to roam it's halls. It's a good hour's drive to the closest town. But for all this, it's a decent campus. The classrooms are big, and the dorm rooms are, well roomy. On the south side of the school, a beach is located, the water nice and warm all year long. On the east and west sides of the school are dark forests, rumored to be haunted.

Dark, yes. Scary, no. That was what Yuna Hatake thought as she walked through the woods to the west of the school. These words were rumored to be haunted, although at the moment, she was thinking that was the furthest thing from the truth. Yes, they were dark, but there wasn't a single scary thing about them--at least nothing she could see anyway.

She thought about the rumor that there was a killer on the loose. Now that rumor was a bit different. After all, there had already been two killings. She shivered slightly. She may not like anyone here at Chino, but that didn't mean that she wanted more people to die.

Her thoughts lingered on the killer as she went deeper into the dark woods. What sort of sick psycho murdered students at a reform school? To her, it didn't seem like the best place to go about killing people. But then, she was not a killer, so she supposed she wouldn't be a very good judge of location.

As she thought about it, a school located basically in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by dense forests did seem like a perfect place for killing. She shivered again, jumping slightly when she heard a rustling sound coming from the bushes off to her left. She turned to stare at them, her eyes glistening.

"Who's there?"

"I am."
Tsuzuki took a few steps forward, out of the darkness, toward Yuna.

Maybe that was supposed to be some sort of metaphore as to why she was sent here. 'Out of the darkness'.........
No, that sounds stupid and cheesy-- my parent's wold love it.
Zuki hadn't really been on good terms with her parents for a very long time. They sort of thought she was a freak. Schitzo or not, their daughter had to be perfect.

How shocked they must have been when Zu threw that knife. Or got suspended the first two times. Or when she got arrested.

Still, she liked Chino a lot better than home. It may be a school, but she had more freedom there. Like walking in the woods at night-- he parents would even let her walk the streets. And Kanto is the most densly populated reigon in Japan. Her mother would always play the 'You'll get abducted and raped' card. Then her father would pitch in with somthing along the lines of, 'Who would want to kidnap her? She looks like the Antichrist.' How nice were they?

She liked the woods though, and the dark. She had never been afraid of the monsters in her closet or whatever. Too many horror movies at a young age seemed to have the reverse effect on her than most children-- she wasn't like most children awayway. She also had yet to hear about the killings.

"Sasaki Tsuzuki. You?"

As much as she didn't want to respond, Yuna knew that saying nothing and walking away would probably not be the best idea. How she wished she could, though. She hated having to talk to people at school, no matter how friendly they seemed to be.

She had always wondered why her parents sent her to this boarding school over all of the others that she was sure they had researched.

She supposed that it probably had something to do with how secluded of an area this was, as well as how far away from home she would be. She knew they wanted her as far away from them and 'normal people' as possible.

She looked over the girl, her eyes dark. Maybe this girl was the killer that everyone was looking for. She mentally smirked at her own thought. That was just ridiculous, and she knew it. Finally she spoke.

"Hatake Yuna."

"Hm. Have we met before?"
Tsuzuki had a sort of dry tone to her voice. She didn't expect to run into anyone out here-- she was looking forward to a quiet walk, maybe sit in a tree and watch the moon. Maybe howl at it later to piss some people off-- one of the great things about her condition was she had an excuse for doing stuff like that-- they didn't have to know she was doing it on purpose-- her lycanthropy wasn't bad enough that she really thought she was a wolf or werewolf or whatever. They were the real crazy ones.

Maybe I'll mess with her a bit...
"So, Do you hear the voices too? They talk to me a lot."

This was an inside joke Zuki and her friends used often on the new students and such at the first school. Not only did it sevearly frighten people, but they tended to stay away from her after that. She wasn't sure what kind of effect it would have here though-- it was very possible that quite a few of these student really did hear voices.

"So, where are the best places to hide bodies around here?"

"We are in a class together."

Now what was she going on about? Voices? There weren't any voices. Of course it was possible that she truly did hear something, but then, not very likely. There was always the chance that she wasn't lying, although Yuna didn't believe that that was the case.

She stared at the other girl blankly for a few more seconds, before shrugging noncommittally. There was really no reason for her to get involved too much in someone else's life. How troublesome...

"No, I do not hear anything. Perhaps you are being haunted."

Why did she say that? It had slipped out before she could stop herself from speaking. She hadn't planned to go along with Zuki's words, and yet she had ended up doing just that. She really had been spending too much time around the people who went to this school--some of there insanity had definitely worn off on her.

"I would think anywhere would be fine. Not many people come out here."

Tsuzuki nodded to Yuna, swatting a mosquito away from her with a pale, fingerless-gloved hand.
Damn bugs.
Attempting to stifle her laughter and hide the smirk playing around her mouth, Zu decided to inquire more about this 'haunting'.

"Ghosts eh? Think the neatherworld is trying to contact me?"
It's not that Zuki didn't believe in the supernatural-- she did. It was more the whole situation that she found amusing. She had heard joking responses to that question before, but none had managed to sound as serious as Yuna when they said it.
"So what, has like, a bunch of people died on campus? School is built on some sacred ground?"

It was possible that ghosts did exist, and were haunting this girl, but it wasn't exactly likely. It was more likely that Tsuzuki was only messing with her, and that she was only playing alone to see how far it would go before one or the other gave it up. Shrugging, she shook her head.

"Perhaps. It is impossible to know what the netherworld has planned."

She had spoken just as seriously as before, but for her, that was her usual tone. She didn't really have a happy, sad, joking, or angry tone--it was all the same with her. Years of hiding all of her emotions had made her completely impassive.

"Only two recently. There have been two killings in the past few weeks."

"Hm. That is true."
Tsuzuki was now quite curious as to wether or not the girl was just fooling with her or if she seriously meant what she was saying.

What really shocked her was the fact that there had been killings recently.

"Seriously? Two people were killed here in two weeks? Why does nobody tell me this stuff."

She muttered the last line, folding her arms.

This was interesting news, and, while it didn't really make her fear for her life, it was just a bit creepy.

"care to fill me in on the details?"

It wasn't surprising that this girl had no knowledge of the killings. It wasn't exactly common knowledge; she was fairly certain that she was probably the only student that even knew about them--and that was only because she had accidentally overheard two teachers speaking of the deaths while she was in the office.

"You're... almost correct. Two killings, in six months. I do not know any other information. No one knows who the killer is."

For all anyone knew, it could be the principal of the school, or any one of the other teachers. Unlikely, considering how few deaths there were then. If it was a teacher, there probably would be many more deaths--too many to cover up.

"So, there's a killer on the loose and the school isn't saying anything. You think they'd at least warn the students or something."

It's like Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azakaban. A killer loose in a boarding school.

Tsuzuki sighed and looked up at the sky. You could see the stars here much better then back home, in the city. It was sort of nice.

"The higher-ups must be having a hard time with this one. They really care about the student's if there's already two dead and this pace isn't crawling with law enforcement."
She was sort of muttering to herself, thinking out loud, not really caring if Yuna could hear her... Zuki really didn't care who heard her anymore. Honestly, there wasn't to much she did care about at this point.

Again, this girl had gotten it part right. It wasn't just that there was a killer on the loose; there was so much more to it than that. Since no one knew who it was, the killer really could be anyone--even Tsuzuki. Yuna doubted that though, since the other girl seemed to be so clueless about the whole matter. Of course, that could just be an act, but she didn't seem to be acting.

"As I said, no one knows who the killer is. It could be a student, or teacher. That is why the police have not been brought in."

"But if people are dying, shouldn't there be some sort of search? I mean, that's gotta be like, child endangerment. There's like, law against that."
Tsuzuki knew she sounded quite stupid there. She generally tried not to use like to many times in a scentence. That was like, annoying.

She thought reform school was supposed to be ultra-safe or something. I mean, it was filled with hords of delinquent children, the vast majority with criminal records-- it was only a matter of time before something like that happened, shouldn't they be more prepared?

She didn't know why she was discussing this with Tsuzuki. It wasn't as though they were friends--they had only just met about ten minutes before. But still, she supposed she could give the other girl the best answer that she could, even if she didn't know if it was right or not.

"They want to try and figure out who the culprit is themselves, without involving law enforcement because the police will have to take every single person in for questioning, and then probably just arrest the first person who responds suspiciously to questioning."

That was what she thought anyway. It was true that, for delinquents, there was a good chance that the police would in fact, think the first person questioned would be the guilty one, just because of that person's past record.

"Hn. Good point."
It was true-- a buch of children with criminal records and cops really wasn't a good mix. Tsuzuki, for one, wouldn't want a bunch of law officers swarming the place.

"Still, With a killer on the lose, do you think it's such a good idea to be wandering around at night?"
She said this with a bit of a laugh. Yuna most certainly wasn't the killer, Tsuzuki could figure out that much. But still, she had always seemed the quiet, play it safe type.

She had to agree with the point t hat Tsuzuki made. It was very unlikely that she would meet with the killer, and even if she did, she did know how to defend herself. But anyway, the other girl was right. There was still a chance, no matter how small of one, that she might run into the killer out here--especially if she were alone.

"You are right. It probably is not a good idea to be out here at night. Still, I was curious about what they say about these woods."

"What they say about these woods? Please, do tell."

Tsuzuki loved a good a good horror story. She had always been a fan of anything involving the supernatural. Mythology was one thing she actually paid attention to, even studied on her own. Of corse, murder mysteries were also cool too. Real life ones, even better.
Hm. I could see this place as the setting for maybe... Something like the Lake Bodom murders in...what was it, Espoo? somewhere in Finland, anyway.... Yeah, a bunch of kids camping out... someone knifes three of them, the fourth escapes injured, but alive to tell the tale...
